It's hard to say
I'M SORRY

Apologizing to someone with all sincerity is a humbling experience. But it's no pint swallowing your pride if the other party doesn't accept your apology, so pay attention to these tips:

Take note of the time. The longer you wait, the bigger the apology has to be. Come forward as soon as you know you're in the wrong. Admitting to that fact may be most difficult part, but don't wait till you have to apologies for the fact that you're late in apologizing.

Watch what you say. Make it clear to the other person that you screwed up and that your remorse comes from the heart. Never put on a defensive tone and always use the first-person voice "I'm sory I did that") as opposed to a dismissive one ("my bad"). People want to see you suffer a little. If they feel that you didn't mean it, it would piss them off even further.

Make a gesture. if you've forgotten a special occasion or betrayed someone's confidence, give a present to make up for it. Get something thoughtful that tells them you feel bad about what you did. Writing as apology letter may also help convey exactly what you mean and keep the situation from getting emotionally charged. It also lends more weight and shows you've given it some thought.
